Arancini with meat ragu @ Cose Buone Italian Food

--

3 Cheapside, Liverpool, L2 2DY

Cose Buone started off as a stall in St John’s Market but built enough of a loyal following that they were able to open a small cafe just off Dale Street.

Genuinely one of the most authentic Sicilian dining experiences to be had off the island. Between the paper plates, the fridge full of Messina and the loud trance remixes coming out of the kitchen it’s like being back in Palermo.

The menu is short, especially for an Italian restaurant, and consists mostly of pizza slices, cannoli and panini. The pick here is the arancini, specifically the one filled with ragu — a rich, deep meat sauce dotted with bright, sweet green peas. Excellent.
