Sausage patty melt @ Press Bros. Coffee

It’s a hard-to-swallow truth that despite being lined with popular restaurants and bars, there are really very few good places to eat on Lark Lane.
There are a couple of notable exceptions, chief among them the fantastic Press Bros. a cool cafe with a menu of excellent sandwiches — a roast beef with gravy dip, a chicken parmigiana — and breakfast plates. The dish of choice though has to be the sausage patty melt — their version of a Sausage McMuffin.
As a general rule I’m ideologically opposed to ‘elevated’ versions of fast food chain menu items, but this one — a crispy hash brown stacked on a runny fried egg, a slice of melted yellow cheese and a squidgy herbed sausage patty — is fantastic. And a real hangover slayer.
Their coffee is also great — although I’m not much of an aficionado so can’t really be more specific than this. Just don’t order a filter coffee when it’s busy (I have waited more than half an hour for one before).
